just posted on fb - Yes.... DB repair still ongoing. Here is what happened - Too many searches (was it the goth vampire? Or was it roller derby queen?) caused an overload on the database (thus, the reason for the inevitable pruning), emails about the database errors getting bounced causing more server load, combined with some yahoo spiders, and a managed back-up running 12+ hours, and we got database errors requiring a repair script..

Maybe some of the archives should be moved over here to keep them for all eternity like they were intended.
Why does searching cause crashes? I hate the 30 second delay when I hit on the wrong search string option. I guess there's a reason for it *dunno*

I had suggested last time this happened to move all the archives to a back up board. then those with the highest tier memberships could do searches, and that $ could pay for archive board. When a database gets as big as sybermoms, it has a tendency to become unstable. And in an unstable database, weird things happens, things crash, get hung up and stuff starts to really really drag.
